How do Astronauts Pee??
I love chocolate especially at Sunday, February 15, 2009 | back to top, baby

How do astronauts use the toilet when in space?

How do they take a bath, brush your teeth, and go to the bathroom in space?

They do not have a bath or shower on the Shuttle, so they just wash off with wet washcloths, using soaps that they don't have to rinse off. When they brush their teeth, they can either swallow the toothpaste or spit it into a washcloth. Designing a toilet for zero-gravity is tougher. They use air flow to make the urine or feaces go where they want, since gravity will not do it for them.
